Types of Sexual Harassment

There are two categories of sexual harassment, namely sexual coercion and sexual annoyance.

Sexual coercion:
Sexual Coercion is a type of harassment which has direct results in some consequence to the victim's employment. It is an employment discrimination. Sexual coercion is under a condition of employment, where an openly or implicitly offer in keeping a job or getting a promotion is made by a supervisor to an employee in exchange for sexual favors.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT RESOLUTION

The objective of sexual harassment resolution is to secure a settlement that is consistent with the spirit of this policy and its fundamental principles. Resolution may be pursued through three progressive levels, "informal Resolution without a Written Complaint", "informal Resolution with a Written Complaint" and "Formal Resolution with a Written Complaint".

Fight Against Sexual Harassment



Initially, you can try telling the harasser to stop. Although this confrontation may be difficult for you, it is often the most effective way of dealing with harassment. You're more likely to be successful if the harassment hasn't gone beyond things like off-color jokes, inappropriate comments about your appearance, or tacky cartoons posted onto the office refrigerator.

Senate Passes Bill Against Harassment Of Women At Workplace

Sindhi Women Development Minister Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto has said that committees have been constituted in 25 departments and eight districts of the Sindh province for effective implementation of the ‘Protection of Women against Harassment at Workplace Bill 2012’. She expressed her desire of thirty three percent women representation in legislative bodies at provincial and federal level for their effective participation in the enactment of constitution.


What Is Sexual Harassment?

Sexual harassment is any unwelcome sexual advance or conduct on the job that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment. Any conduct of a sexual nature that makes an employee uncomfortable has the potential to be sexual harassment.
