Sindhi Women Development Minister Tauqeer Fatima Bhutto has said that committees have been constituted in 25 departments and eight districts of the Sindh province for effective implementation of the ‘Protection of Women against Harassment at Workplace Bill 2012’. She expressed her desire of thirty three percent women representation in legislative bodies at provincial and federal level for their effective participation in the enactment of constitution.

In a letter issued on Friday, the federal Businessperson asked all government departments and private companies to display the code of conduct for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace and submit the implementation report to the Businessperson within fortnight.

Pakistan’s Daily Times reports that sexual harassment is increasing in Pakistan, especially among domestic workers, students and nurses. At a seminar held at the Lahore College for Women University, Punjab Assembly Member Amna Ulfat said “There is a need to start an awareness campaign against sexual harassment and the government should strictly implement laws that check and control discrimination.”
